On the history of this house:

Anno 1563
Bad Hofgastein has a thousand-year history as Bergwerksort.

Our house was the headquarters of the trades Family Cristof Grimming and his sixteen children, who scraped in the Gastein Valley, but also in neighboring Rauris and Styria, with success for gold and silver.

Anno 1827
Another owner, patriarch Ladislaus Pyrker, founded by the construction of the first thermal management in global health resort of Bad Hofgastein. As the largest benefactor of our thermal-radon-spa he founded the State sanatorium for disabled ex-officers and soldiers.

Anno 1910
The name "Rübezahl" comes from the German naval hero Aurel Zumbersky - Edler von Millic, in memory of his birthplace in the Giant Mountains.
The "Rübezahl" has been managed since its establishment as a spa and was completed with the restaurant in 1970 by the previous owners, the family Ferner.

Since 1994, is now seeking Mrs. Ranseder  and your Rübezahl- team for the good of the many regulars.
